If in case you have not already heard about the recent itch.io announcement regarding NSFW games being shadowbanned off their platform, Vulgor’s Exchange was part of the list that was delisted, as well as other FVNs big and small.

While this does not affect the development of our project, I have done my part of signing the petition to get this reversed. We need your help to make this decision happen, as this is destroying not just the community, but the creative freedom of countless indie game developers who have relied on platforms to share works without censorship or prejudice. It will only take less than a minute, but I’ve provided the links under this thread.

Regarding my personal views on the subject, it’s not our fault that unsupervised children are accessing things they’re not supposed to access. There are so many social media accounts that I see here every now and then that put in the profile bio “Minors DNI 🔞”, because their content contains inappropriate stuff that is not meant to be shown to children, yet children do it anyway, which gets both of them in trouble. Not the profile’s fault, but parents love to redirect blame to something that is not within their control. It just feels like we were thrown out of our storm shelter just as the tornado hits.

I get that there are some exceptions that there are some overly NSFW that shouldn’t be allowed on the platform to the point it is downright illegal, but that shouldn’t affect the entire NSFW community, especially since that affects a lot of FVNs we all know and love.

FVNs can still be viewed via direct links, and as an alternative option to find FVNs would be the database fvn.li. I am currently trying to find alternative publishers, doing some research on how to branch out, but that’s what’s going on right now while we get this issue resolved.
